BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Government Degree College Gonda, Iglas Aligarh was established on 7th August 1998 Via government order -598-40 (35)/99, by the effort of local respectable persons of Gonda. In the same year the college was affiliated by Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University with seven subject i.e. Hindi, English, History, Sanskrit, Home science, Sociology and Political science; tempororily. by government order the posts fot lecturers in each subject, Librarian, Head Clerk, Steno,

Lab assistants and Peons, were generated (created) and appointed; with the post of principal. The teaching at graduate level (B.A 1st year); was started in july 1999. In the session 1999-2000; 159 students admitted in B.A 1 and 151 students were examined atthe centre. By government order E.no. /4259/G.S. dated 12-july-2004 and Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University letter no. Affil./2387/2004;

The college was permanently affiliated with university. In the year 2009; 196 students in B.A.1 (total 479 students) were appeared in the university examination; also in 2010; 284 students in BA1, 120 students in BAII and 150 students appeared in the university examinations. Out of 550 students in the year 2010, 290 students were male and 260 were girls.

From session 2002-2003,A unit of NSS (Rashtriya Seva Yojana) is running in the college. In which more than 100 students are registered every year. For this extra activity the certificates are provided by the university. In the college; Annual Games are held every year with different atheletics. The participants are awarded by the principle/ Chief guest on annual function with their certificates
